The Brief

Authored by Aykut İnce, Fire in the Forest is a deeply informative book that delves into the causes of forest fires in Turkey and explores critical methods for their prevention. Serving as both an educational resource and a historical archive, the book presents vital data on historically significant wildfires, heavily supported by a powerful collection of original photographs captured by the author himself.

Ecological design illustration and scenario diagrams showcasing forest ecosystems and environmental anthropology research

Our design strategy had to carefully balance the emotional weight of the subject matter with the need for clear, scientific communication. We structured the layout to showcase the striking photography almost like a photo album, giving the images the space they needed to leave a profound, impactful impression on the reader.

To complement this emotional visual narrative, we translated the book's scientific and archival data into clean, minimalist infographics for easy comprehension. Additionally, we incorporated custom, subject-specific illustrations designed to explain and reinforce the core concepts of fire prevention and forest ecology. The result is a highly cohesive book design that is both visually striking and educational.
